Fox was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was inspired by a broad range of artists ranging from The Beatles to The Gipsy Kings. Fox later received a scholarship to train with the director of the Teatro Colón Symphony Orchestra, an opportunity which signaled the start of his career as a conductor, teacher and composer. It was during this time that Fox honed his own unique style which blended, according to his official biography, "classical rumba and flamenco rhythms with a Mediterranean flair."

Fox moved to Miami, Florida, United States, in 1984 where he quickly established himself as a noted local artist in the South Beach area.

His first album, To The Gypsies, was an independent production under his own label, Coco Musical, Inc. The album met with critical and commercial success worldwide, leading to the release of six more albums. ... Read more

Milton, the modern-day troubadour with the distinctive voice and one-name moniker, is the leader of a lively, rootsy collective known for their soul-stirring live shows. Meet Milton and you will meet a tall, bookish optimist who will tell you about the “heavy” new group that he heard in a club last night and the old folk recording he listened to this morning with equal enthusiasm. The folksinger has developed a grassroots following for the warmth and spontaneity of his live shows, with a playlist that includes traditional folk, blues and country songs with old time harmonies. Earning comparisons to many of his heroes—Van Morrison, Nick Lowe, The Band—singer-songwriter Milton has distinguished himself with his unique voice and lyrics, a compelling mix of grit and grammar.

Described as a writer’s writer, capable of elegantly simple narratives about the complex wonders of life, Milton says, “I never make any rules when I write, I just follow whatever I’m writing to its end. If I write another country song or another blues song, so be it. All of my favorite American songs drew from all of the different root forms we have in this country.”

From Album: "Mari Trini Con Los Panchos".

Maria Trinidad Perez de Mille Miravete (July 12, 1947, Caravaca de la Cruz, Murcia - April 6, 2009, Murcia) , known artistically as Mari Trini, was a Spanish singer and composer.

Mari Trini emerged as one of Spain's most popular and influential pop stars during the final years of Francisco Franco's rule, writing and recording a series of feminist protest anthems that challenged the perception of women in music and in Spanish society as a whole. Born María Trinidad Pérez de Miravete in Murcia on July 12, 1947, she endured an often hellish childhood -- a chronic kidney disease confined her to bed from the ages of seven to 14, with corticoid treatment to blame for the deformities that scarred the left side of her face. During her confinement, Trini studied music, wrote her first songs and taught herself guitar -- although doctors declared her condition "incurable," she ultimately escaped her sickbed and began her career as a folksinger, settling in Madrid and performing at the Avenida de América nightclub Nicha's, owned by the renowned American filmmaker Nicholas Ray. While Ray arranged for Trini to travel to London to study dramatic art under actor Peter Ustinov, his promises of a movie role came to nothing, and in 1963 she relocated to Paris, where she remained for more than four years. During this period Trini befriended the French composer Jacques Brel and cut her debut single "Bonne Chance," capturing a deeply intimate, profoundly melancholy intensity that earned her comparisons with the legendary Edith Piaf. In the wake of her father's 1967 death, Trini returned to Spain, where she signed to RCA and in 1969 issued her self-titled debut LP -- featuring a handful of originals alongside material from songwriters like Luis Eduardo Aute and Patxi Andión, the album attracted little attention, but the follow-up, Amores, proved a smash, generating a series of hits including "Un Hombre Marchó," "Mañana," "Cuando Me Acaricias" and "Vals de Otoño."

Trini's third album, 1972's Escúchame, is widely considered her masterpiece -- songs including "Yo no Soy Ésa" established the singer as the voice of young women throughout Spain, thanks to lyrics like "That's not me/I'm not your simple, quiet young miss." But even as Trini's fame grew, she avoided the limelight -- a closeted lesbian, she fiercely guarded her private life from public view, over the years deflecting endless media questions about her love life (or seeming lack thereof). Over time, the bohemian chic of Trini's earlier recordings gave way to a mainstream pop approach, complete with lush orchestral arrangements -- while albums like 1982's Una Estrella en Mi Jardín enjoyed brisk sales, her stardom waned across the decade to come, and after 1987's En Tu Piel, she did not resurface again until 1990's Espejismos, with a five-year hiatus preceding her next release, Sin Barreras. Trini enjoyed a commercial and critical renaissance with 2001's Mari Trini con los Panchos, teaming with the venerable Latin American trio Los Panchos to revisit classic songs from throughout her career. The Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers awarded Trini a special diamond disc in 2005 for record sales in excess of 10 million, and in March 2008, in conjunction with International Women's Day, the regional government of Murcia gave her its "Struggle for Equality" award for "portraying through her songs women's needs, problems and inequalities." Poor health again dogged Trini during the last years of her life, and in 2004 doctors removed one of her kidneys. She died April 6, 2009. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Edgardo Jose Martin Santiago Valenciano, better known as simply Gary Valenciano (shortened to Gary V.), is a Filipino musician, composer, actor, producer, and gospel singer who is best known for many songs, especially those that became theme songs for movies. His energetic dance moves also garnered him the nickname "Mr. Pure Energy."

Born in the suburb of Santa Mesa in Manila on August 6, 1964, he is the sixth of Vicente Valenciano and Grimilda Santiago Ortiz’s seven children. His parents met in New York, married, and settled in Manila. His father,Vicente Valenciano, is from Bicol, Philippines. His mother Grimilda Santiago Ortiz is a Puerto Rican woman of Italian descent who became a popular opera singer in Manila during the 1960s, and her love for music passed down to her son, Gary. He took his primary and secondary studies in La Salle Greenhills. It was during his high school days, while on a brief stint with the musical group Kundirana, that he devoted himself to music.

Valenciano started performing in 1982 and launched his career in singing and show business on May 13, 1983. He first appeared as a solo in a television show called The Pilita and Jackie Show in 1982, but he was finally noticed after his performances in the TV shows Germspesyal and Penthouse Live. He had his first solo concert, in April 1984, inside the jam-packed Araneta Coliseum. That would be followed by 21 albums, three of them released internationally, including a Christian inspired album called Out of the Dark.

He is married to Maria Anna Elizabeth "Angeli" Pangilinan, with whom he has three children: Juan Paolo Martin (a vocalist of the band Salamin), Gabriel (a dancer, music arranger) and Kristiana Maria Mikaela (a singer).

To date, Gary has released 26 albums and has the most illustrious track record on the Philippine recording scene. He has won as “Best Male Performer” in the annual Awit Awards, the local counterpart of the U.S. Grammy awards the most number of times, a total of 11 out of 21. In 1998 he became the first UNICEF National Ambassador of Goodwill for the Philippines, a position he still holds today. ~ Read more from Wiki

Nelson Ned built a solid career as a singer and composer of sentimental, suffering songs. His recordings have been released in America, Europe, and Africa, and he has received gold records both in Brazil and abroad. His compositions have been recorded by the likes of Mantovani and Matt Monroe; in Brazil he had his songs recorded by Moacir Franco, Antônio Marcos, and Agnaldo Timóteo. In 1968, he recorded for the first time; the song was his own composition (with Hamilton Gouveia Bastos) "Tamanho Não É Documento" (loosely, "Size Doesn't Matter," an allusion to his small stature). In the same year, he won the I Festival de la Canción (Buenos Aires, Argentina) with his "Tudo Passará." In 1969, when he was already very popular in Brazil, he started to sing internationally, performing in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Africa. His international performances included four shows at Carnegie Hall, two at Madison Square Garden, and mega-events in Mexico. After his conversion in 1993, he has only recorded evangelic songs.

In 1963, a group of Chilean students formed a band called the Douglas. Four years later, bassist/singer Luis Muñoz (aka Lucho Muñoz), guitarist Carlos Baeza, keyboardist Jorge Deij, drummer Roberto Zuñiga, sax player Nicolas Parra, and trumpeter Mario Darigo decided to change their name to Los Galos. In 1970, a romantic song called "Como Deseo Ser Tu Amor" became their first hit. "Olvidarte Nunca," "Un Minuto De Tu Amor," and "Perdona Si Me Ves Llorar" followed soon after. Muñoz left the band in 1974 and a year later, Los Galos disbanded.

In 1997, Deij and Zuñiga teamed up with trumpet player Leo Nuñez, singer Carlos Peña, bassist Eladio Farias, saxophonist Manuel Antonio Matta, and guitarist Juan Ramón Suazo to make a new record, titled Declaraciones, that was produced in Chile and the U.S. and released in May 1998. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
