Mary first got the chance to showcase her talent at just 12 years of age when, quite by chance, her father heard her singing on a home tape recorder,and recognised she had quite a talent. Having his own band at that time, he invited Mary to sing with them at weekends.
Once Mary finished school she took up office work in her home county; Meath in Ireland. It was whilst she was working in an office that she auditioned and successfully got the job as vocalist with a band called Jukebox.
