Steve and Eydie is the name of an American pop vocal duet, consisting of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. They have been a husband and wife team since the 1950s. Both have also had separate careers as solo singers. The performer name on their duet releases was denoted as "Steve and Eydie", without the last names.

Steve Lawrence (born July 8, 1935) is an American singer, perhaps best known as a member of a duo with his wife Eydie Gormé, billed as Steve and Eydie. The two have appeared together since appearing regularly on Steve Allen's The Tonight Show in the mid-1950s.

Lawrence has been awarded a New York Drama Critics' Circle Award and a Tony Award nomination for his performance of What Makes Sammy Run on Broadway (1964), and two Emmy Awards —one for production—for Steve & Eydie Celebrate Irving Berlin (1978), which altogether won seven Emmys.

With Gormé, he has been the recipient of two Emmys for Our Love is Here to Stay, a tribute to George and Ira Gershwin; a "Best Performance By a Vocal Duo or Group" Grammy Award for We Got Us; a Film Advisory Board's Award of Excellence and a Television Critics Circle Award for From This Moment On, a tribute to Cole Porter.

They have been honoured with a lifetime achievement award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 1995 were the recipients of an Ella Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Singers, a non-profit organization that helps professional singers with counseling and financial assistance. ~ From Wiki

Eydie Gorme (alternative spelling Eydie Gormé; born Edith Gormezano, August 16, 1931) is an American singer credited heavily, along with husband Steve Lawrence, with helping to keep the classic traditional pop music repertoire alive and well. She still continues to entertain and tour with husband Steve.

Throughout her long career she has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Grammy Award and the Emmy Award. The couple's striking union of broad ballads and breezy swing has combined with the endurance of their marriage and their comic facility to make them American institutions---even though neither of the couple, as separate performers or together, has put a single into the American Top 40 since 1963. ~ From Wiki

Eydie Gormé (born Edith Gormezano on August 16, 1931) is an American singer credited heavily, along with husband Steve Lawrence, with helping to keep the classic Traditional pop music repertoire alive and well. She still continues to entertain and tour with husband Steve.

Throughout her long career she has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Grammy Award, and an Emmy Award.

Los Panchos (also Trío Los Panchos) is the name of an internationally known musical trio.
Los Panchos were first formed in 1944 at New York City by Alfredo Gil (Mexican), Chucho Navarro (Mexican) and Hernando Aviles (from Puerto Rico). Each member of Los Panchos played a guitar and sang with unequalled harmony.

Los Panchos reached fame internationally with their romantic songs, especially in Latin America, where they are still regarded as one of the top trios of all time. They sold millions of album copies within a few years of being founded.[citation needed]

Between 1946 to 1948, Los Panchos performed in the United States, including a performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. They became very popular within New York's Puerto Rican and Dominican communities. Los Panchos first began touring internationally in 1946, starting with tours in Venezuala and Puerto Rico. In 1948, they toured across Brazil for several months. Later that year, Los Panchos moved to Mexico, which was considered the capital of Latin music at the time. They were welcomed with open arms and XEW-AM, the most popular radio station in Mexico City, reserved a time slot for their music. In 1951, Los Panchos launched another international tour across Latin America.

Julito Rodriguez joined the group in 1952; he was replaced by Johnny Albino in 1958. They most famously worked with singer Eydie Gorme on a series of bestselling albums in the 1960's. The Albino era was one of the most prosperous ones for Los Panchos, as Albino proved to be a very popular singer among Los Panchos fans for ten years. His departure in 1968 was a tumultuous one, as he did not leave on good terms with the group's management. Alfredo Gil played with Los Panchos until his retirement in 1981 and Chucho Navarro played with the group until his death 1993.

Trio Los Panchos is currently under the musical direction of Gabriel Vargas Aguilar, the adopted son of co-founder Gil. The new Los Panchos, now based in Veracruz, Mexico, still continue to perform concerts across Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States and Latin America, with a newer cast of singers.
