The awarded composer Eduardo Lages has had his songs recorded by Roberto Carlos, Nelson Gonçalves, Emílio Santiago, Claudette Soares, Agostinho dos Santos, Agnaldo Timóteo, João Paulo e Daniel, and Rosemary, among others. Eduardo Lages debuted as a professional artist as the arranger, conductor, and composer of the Movimento Artístico Universitário (MAU, University Artistic Movement), that also had Ivan Lins and Gonzaguinha as its members. As an arranger, conductor, musician, and vocalist, he joined the Quarteto Forma. In 1969, he won first place at the Festival Fluminense da Canção Popular with "Canto da Praia Grande" (written with Paulinho Machado), interpreted by Momento 4. In 1971, he won first place at the Festival Fluminense da Canção Popular and fourth place at the IV Festival Internacional da Canção Popular with "Razão de Paz Pra Não Cantar" (with Alézio Barros), interpreted by Cláudia; the song also got the Best Song, Best Lyrics, Best Arrangement, and Best Interpreter prizes at the Peru Song Festival (Peru). With "Retirada" (with Alézio Barros), interpreted by Sônia Lemos, he got second place at the Festival Fluminense da Canção Popular, in 1970. In the same year, he was the arranger and musical director during the Brazilian visit by the Pope John Paul II to Rio de Janeiro, with the participation of the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra. Teresa Teng (January 29, 1953 – May 8, 1995) (traditional Chinese: 鄧麗君; simplified Chinese: 邓丽君; pinyin: Dèng Lìjūn, , Japanese: テレサ・テン, sometimes spelled as Tang or Deng), was an immensely popular and influential Taiwanese pop singer. Teresa Teng's voice and songs are instantly recognized throughout east Asia and in areas with large Asian populations. It is often said, "Wherever there are Chinese people, the songs of Teresa Teng can be heard." Her songs have enjoyed huge popularity as well, though, among Korean, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian and Indonesian listeners.

Teng was known for her folk songs and romantic ballads. Many became standards in her lifetime, such as "When Will You Return?" (何日君再來) and "The Moon Represents My Heart" (月亮代表我的心). She recorded songs not only in her native Mandarin but also in Taiwanese, Cantonese, Japanese, Indonesian, and English. Her songs have sold more records than any east Asian singer in history.

Gagliardi was born in Naples. His first hit in Italy came in 1963 with "T'amo e t'amerò". In 1970, he had another big hit with the song "Settembre" and more hits followed in the early 1970s.

He achieved two second placings at the Sanremo Music Festival: in 1972 with "Come le viole" and in 1972 with "Come un ragazzino". His music declined in popularity in the 1980s and 1990s. His last entry at the Sanremo Music Festival was "L'alba" in 1993.

Armando Manzanero Canché (born in Mérida, Mexico on December 7, 1935) is a Mexican musician and composer of Maya descent, widely considered the premiere Mexican romantic composer of the postwar era. One of the most successful composers of Latin America.

After studying at the local music conservatory, he relocated to Mexico City in 1957 to pursue a career as a performer and songwriter, soon authoring the Angelica María hit "Paso a Pasito." In 1960 he issued his first solo smash, "Voy a Apagar la Luz," followed over the years to come by a string of hits including "Contigo Aprendí," "Te Extraño," "Cuando Estoy Contigo," "Adoro," "No," "Esta Tarde Vi Llover" and "Tengo."
